I'm really back this time...

We'll I'm not divorced yet, but I'm settled into my own place and I (finally) have my computer, my scrapbook room, and most of my things. The divorce will be final in February and I'm ready to move on with my life. I'm sorry I have not been around and have lost touch with the scrapbook world, but I'm ready to dive back in and get started. I'll post more and hit all my usual spots real soon...

I can't wait to do a contest and crops again... I've really missed that! And, I've missed all my scrapbook friends!!! I'm in Charlotte, NC now, so if anyone is in the area I would love to have someone to do srapbooking things with.

HAPPY NEW YEARS! We'll 2008 was not a kind year for me...I lost my marriage of 22 years, a relationship with my youngest daughter...she's with him :-( , my home, my cockatoo, and my little yorkie. What does not kill you only makes you stronger! I know 2009 will be a better year. I hope that everyone else had a better year than me! I'm looking forward to a new year.

I spent the summer with Heather, Jessica, and Hayleigh. My sweet little baby girl has really grown. I really miss ALL my kids!

I'm Back!

It's been a while since I've picked up anything to do with scrapbooking...but that's going to change. My heart is mending...I've found someone very special in my life and I'm ready to get back to what I absolutely love to do, scrapbooking and photography.

I'm still stuck here in Ohio and most of my girls are in Oklahoma, so it makes it hard to get alot of pictures, but I've managed to get a few from my visits. I'm headed down to NC to visit my parents and leaving behind my scrapbook room for a few weeks...but I'm checking out pubcalls.blogspot waiting for that fun contest I want to enter. I'm putting DT calls on hold for now until I can get moved down to Oklahoma...but I really do miss it!

To all my wonderful scrapbook friends I sure have missed you all but needed the time. You will see me soon and I can't wait!!!

I have been working on a mini album for my daughter Jessie. This year is not my year for Valentines, but it is for my daughter and her boyfriend. I got several awesome Valentine's kits, so I hope to have my mini album finished this weekend. I'll post as soon as I get it uploaded. I hope everyone had a great time. Mine was not all that bad. I got out of the house and had a good time! My girls have been the best to me through all of this.

This will be a hard year...no candy, no flowers, no taking me out for a romantic dinner, no saying I love you, no showing me he loves me. Just hate, making fun of me, trying to hurt me. He is sharing all those things he use to share with me with someone else.

Here's my LOs...

This is my middle daughter, her boyfriend, and her neice. This is a busted photo. My daughter had David come up behind our back and her niece busted her out on her new camera. We have since had a long talk.

The other is my grand daughter Hayleigh. I'm not much into Valentine's this year and I knew I needed to do one for the holiday, so I did this one of Hayleigh and her new Valentine pup. We took her to the Mall to pick out a new furry friend at Build A Bear. She kissed the heart, picked out the barking noise, and stepped on the petal to fill it up. She then loved cleaning it and brushing it before leaving the store. We named him "Pinky". She's my little Valentine this year. She's such a sweetie!

We'll off to get some more work done.

Times are not always sunshine

but they will get better. Most of the people that know me already know that my husband told me recently that he never loved me and that he wants a divorce. We have been married for almost 21 years. I gave him my whole heart and he broke mine. He continues to hurt me, but I will overcome this and I will survive. I deserve more than this and if this is all he has to give then I'm much better off without him...his loses not me. I will not put him down. I will just walk away and make something new and better of my life. If you would please say prayers for me that I continue to stand strong, hold my head up high, and to know that there is something better waiting for me out there. I will overcome this and I will be stronger from this!!! I have a wonderful family and awesome friends that are helping me get though this and I thank each one of you for being there and listening to me. You're whats helping get through this.

From this I have decided to take that leap and become a professional photographer. I plan to enroll in college when I move back to Tulsa in photography and then open my own business after I finish school. I know this will be hard, but I'm strong and I will do this for myself. I'm hoping to move this summer after my daughter Jessie graduates from high school. She is finishing up a year early and I'm very proud of her. I'm very sad to say that my youngest daughter Kimi has decided to say with her father. I will miss her very much, but will honor her wishes. It's so hard for a mother (when I did not want this) to say good bye and it will probably be the hardest thing I've had to do in my life yet. I love her very much and have told her that she is always welcome to come see me.

We are in the months of snow, snow, snow. Hayleigh loves the snow this year! Last year she did not want anything to do with it! I just loved her recent snow pictures, so I had to do a LO with the photos from the clear album I just finished. I rarely use purple on my LOs...but her snowsuit this year is purple. I really like the way it turned out using purple as a snow page. The photo under "snow" is a black & white printed on photo transparency paper.

I hope everyone had a Happy New Years. We sat at home and watched the grand baby this year. We did manage to stay awake though for the new year to come in.

I've got mail...DT projects that is! I've been busy getting project finished and loaded.

My first projects are for Memories From The Attic. I had a great kit to work with, pattern paper from Dream Street and Making Memories (Noteworthy). The embellishments are from Making Memories (Noteworth) stickers, Fancy Pants (flower and heart pins), stamp from Autumn Leaves, and a cute clear album from Moonlight Oil.

The pictures in the album are from our first good snowfall here in December. I hope to fill it up with plenty of snow pictures this season. The LO is of Hayleigh this summer in the town square here in Medina. It's hard to believe she is already 2.

The next DT projects are for Freckle Friends. I loved this kit. All the goodies are from KI. The kit came with Pop Culture pattern paper, softies, ribbons, taglines, and many more neat supplies. Here's what I came up with...

That's not it. I also got my kit from Scrap-Tastic, where I'm Guest Designer for January. Becky sent me some cute product from Fancy Pants. I got pattern paper, matching cardstock, botanical tags and title from Fancy Pants, overlay from hambly, and ric rac ribbon. Here's what I created...

It looks like we are limited this year on decorating the new house! Our house roof is too high for Charles to get up there and put up lights. It was 28 degrees yesterday putting up what lights we did do...brrr, it was so cold! I hope to get a picture today. We are still working on the yard since we are not putting much up on the house. We are supposed to get snow tonight and most of the week so I hope to get some pictures of it with snow on the house. Here's what we are working with...

We have a long ladder that they use on utility poles and it would not go high enough to reach the second level and the third level is just not happening!

at Scrap-tastic was to do a little bit of everything. Requirements were to do a one or two page LO with sewing, stampimg, painting, journaling ( 3 sentences with bullets), 5 photos, and 5 different colors. Since it has just started snowing up here and very little snow so far, I had to go with last years pictures of Hayleigh in the snow. The snowing has really gave me the itch for some snow pictures. After all, we are living up where we should see some good snow falls again. Thanksgiving is calling for snow and I'm looking forward to it ...because I don't have to be out driving in it! A great day to relax and eat too much and hang out by the fireplace and look at it out the window! We'll back to my final submission...

Winter

has really been hard on me this year...already!!! I have been sick for a month now. I just can't seem to kick this! All I did yesterday was sleep. I tried to stay awake, but my body said sleep. I've had a cold in my sinuses, chest, and now it's back in my throat. It was so sore and swollen that my pills were stuck in my throat...yuck! I'm hoping that this wave of antibotics will kick it. Just wanted to let people know I'm still around...I just have not felt like doing much! Charles' mom is coming for Thanksgiving, so I have to be well soon!
I'm trying to work on my final LO for Scrap-tastic today. I have until Sunday to upload, so I'm ok for now. I have an idea for it...I just need to get it to work out on paper! I'm having to pull from old pictures because I have not felt like going out and getting new pictures. It's been rainy a lot here so my pictures of Hayleigh playing in leaves has not happen yet. We have snow and rain mixed the rest of this week so no luck until next week.

My month as Guest Designer is up today for Scraplove. I had a blast being the Guest Designer...thank you Suzanne, Em, and the DT!

I'm still the month intern for Scrappinmojo. I have my second challenge posted there....if you get a chance go check it out! I'm giving a set of Elsie alphabet stamps away to one lucky participate! I won the contest at Scrappinmojo Survivor. There's some asewome talent there and great friends, so I'm very honored to win! Along with a goodie package I will be hosting weekly challenges for the month of November. I'm looking forward to challenging everyone!

I lost by one point at Scrappin With Grace to Renee. There's some great talent and great friends there also! I had a blast doing Survivor Football. They are starting a new contest, a Treasure Hunt. It should be alot of fun!

I will not find out the winner at 2 Croppin Cousinz until the weekend. I don't plan on winning anything there. You racked up alot of points by doing the weekly crop activities and that's our date night. We get little time together as it is, so I was not going to give up a month for scrapbooking. We went to Harrisburg, PA for the weekend. It was so nice to just relax. We had nothing for sure planned...just kinda went with it. Along the way just off the highway I noticed this old church, so I made Charles take a side trip. When I got there I noticed the very muddy pond. I thought, great this ugly pond will be in my photo. It was perfect, you'll see the entire reflection of the building in the pond! Yay, for muddy water! I played around with my filters in Photoshop and got this result...

I really like the star, so I bought me one to put on our house, in a little Amish store. I also got a great smelling candle. Charles enjoyed looking at the workmanship of the Amish furniture. I had to remind him that he is doing his Masters and has NO time to build furniture right now! Beside, our garage is still full of boxes.

We adventured on to Intercourse, Fertility, and Paradise PA as well...Amish towns too...(((too funny!!!)))

I wanted to take some pictures of the Amish way of life without being intrusive to them...afterall I was on vacation relaxing, I sure did not want to make someone else feel uncomfortable! I got a picture of the cutest little amish boy!

I shot this picture as they drove past. You can really get a feel of the buggy moving in the second shot.

We drove down some side roads in search of covered bridges. I was able to get pictures of a couple of different ones. This first bridge is now closed and there is a campground located beside. The second one I got lucky and a buggy was coming as I took the pictures.

On to our next adventure, we drove down to the military post "Ft. Richie" that DH was stationed at, which is now closed. It was so neat to see our old house. It's almost like a ghost town there now. Here's our old house on post and what we live in now. They're just a little different, don't you think? Oh, and I promise our yard looks much better now than when I took this picture of our new house. This is the photo I took when we were shopping for a house. We use True Green now, so it's very green!

After visiting Ft. Richie, we drove down this little side road to an old creek bed that is loaded with big bolders, called the Devil's something...any way the last time I was there we skipped church to go there and see it and I tored my tendon in my leg, Charles had to carry me off all the rocks and through the path back to the van and had to wear a cast. I think the Lord was trying to tell me something that day! I was very careful and did not walk across all the rocks this time! And we went on a Saturday, just to be on the safe side! As you can see in the picture, it's full of rocks bigger than Charles! When you stand close to the rocks you can here the water running under the rocks. There's suppose to be copperhead snakes in the area, so we did not stick around long or go off the path.

They still had this little pizza place right off post that we went to, so we stopped and pizza there. It seemed much better back then...probably because eating out was very little back then. It's a little mom and pop place and the little school girl that waited on us was very sweet. Charles left her a really good tip.

We had a great time, very relaxing. I hope the next time to meet up with old friends. they were out of town on this trip. Until the next trip!

I loved doing this one. I got to combine alot of Hayleigh's first two years of life...alot of sweet memories there!

I got a new car

last Friday. I know I should have already put it up here, but been pretty busy. I'm very excited about it and it drives so good. I went from a soccer mom to having a pretty cool car with the daughters, especially the youngest, Kimi! I drove it up through the Cuyahoga National Forest...good luck with pronounciation on that one, I'm just learning it! It's beautiful through there. I got some great Fall photos and have already done a LO with them.

With 7 contest going I've been locked away busy in my scrapbook room. I did have time to take Hayleigh to McDonalds today. She played in the playground area and loved it! And...dummy me forgot to bring my camera!

For the next round we had to do a LO using white space. I used a light pattern paper for my white space. Here's what I came up with. Now...lets see if I can make it to round 5...I've got my fingers crossed. My dear friend Michelle (momof3crazies) is also in the contest...I'm pulling for you Michelle. I also a have wonderful friend from Tulsa, Dianne H that's a member there. We use to work together. I'm so excited to finally get to talk to her again. Both are awesome scrapbookers!

I did not win Design Team at Scrappin With Grace...but I won Honor student and won a bag of loot! So I pretty happy! They are doing a Survivor Football for October. Anf, of course I had to play.

Our challenge was to do a LO using 90% Mustard Moon products. Since Mustard Moon only has pattern paper, stickers, and rubons it made it harder to use 90% without embellishments, so I made my own. I cut circles and made flowers to give my LO some dimension. Here's my take on the challenge...

For extra credit we could do a card with leftover pieces of Mustard Moon products so here's the card I came up with...

We had to use two classes so I picked Music and Computer class.

Computers- I used the digital circle, flower, and cherish on the photo of them holding hands.

Music- I used "In my daughter's eyes" by Martina McBride

I've had these photos awhile and even did a different LO with this same song and pics. I did this for my daughter Heather...I think I'll frame it and give it to her for her birthday in November.

Here's a close up of the bottom circle. I used rubons and jewels, a metal heart, and metal "I love you"...and did I say jewels...plenty of them!

I've signed up for two new contest...badgirlskits and scrappinwithgrace. I love the challenges from contest. They help me push myself with my scrapbooking! Here's this weeks LO for scrappinwithgrace. Requirements were to do a LO using a shape or letter larger than the rest of the embellishments and to use a different words other than the usual word you might put on a LO. I used a large circle (in the background) and the word enjoy instead of fun. "enjoy"

This is the final round at Scraplove. We had to use something other than cardstock or pattern paper for the background...so, I used a canvas and painted for my background! Here's what I came up with.

It's been awhile since I posted to my blog. We are getting settled in, but we had a flood in our basement this week because of rain. So everything is a mess...things are in the garage that we almost cleared out and put away. We have blowers trying to blow the carpet dry so we can save the carpet. That saying when it rains it's pours...we'll I believe it!

I've been busy with a new contest at Scraplove. It's 8 weeks long and we are in week #6. I love the way this contest is going...instead of a process of elimination they have guest judges for their top 3 picks. They also have the DT judges vote their choice but you will not see their results until the contest is over. So...the only votes you know about are from the guest judges. Or, a bonus item they pick ahead of time and if you use it in your layout you get a point for it. When the contest is over the one with the most votes wins! So...check it out some time...ScrapLove. I can't forget my website that I'm DT member of Susans Scrapbook Shack...check them out too we'd love to have you! I'm hosting a crop at the end of next month with Julia. We got here on Sunday. I have been busy digging out of boxes ever since. We did find some time to shop for new bedroom furniture for our 20th Anniversary present. We get it on Friday...and we're really excited! I am any way!

Alex came with us...at the last minute he changed his mind and decided to come with us. The girls seem to like it ok. They've been out and looking around Medina. Hayleigh loves the yard...outside! Outside, can we go outside? I hear that a lot!

I hope to get some pictures of the house this weekend...especially the bedroom furniture!

Tomorrow morning tooooooo early we are leaving on the road to Ohio. We finally got everything packed that we could fit into this 26 foot truck. This is only the second truck so far! One more trip back down in a couple of weeks to get the final things. After 3 days of all day cleaning and packing we are finished. The last day it seemed liked things were multiplying on us!!! We are staying in hotel life tonight.

We left the moving trucked parked at the house and pets wait for us to pick them up in the morning. We only have 4 teenagers because at the last moment we decided to let the daughter's boyfriend go with us for a few weeks, our son who for several weeks has said he is not going and at the last minute decided he wants to go with us, one grand daughter, 4 dogs, 3 cats, and cockatoo, a turtle, and a fish...I think that is everyone???

We'll I'll let you know how things go when we get to Ohio. Off to bed I'm beat!!!

is officially for sale! I've been busy painting, cleaning, packing, and yard work for what seems like weeks. I'm finally done...that is until we move. Now I have to keep 3 teemagers and a grand daughter from messing up all my work. Maybe I'm not done?

I'm waiting on the realtor to get our pictures up of our house now. Then I can show off all the work we've done to get it ready to sell. The house is painted through the entire house. Our house had no trees when we moved in seven years ago, no fence, and no landscaping. We've added so much to the outside of this house and now we have to move away. There are so many things I will miss about our house. With all the military years of traveling from one place to the next I always called my birthplace (Charlotte, NC) home. I finally started calling this home. We've made great friends and have had great neighbors (for the most part), and I have made a best friend and some very dear friends.

Every tree has a reason behind it...such as Mother's day & valentines. We put in a trellis archway over the gate to the fence the first year we lived here along with the fence. It has been a beautiful backdrop for prom pictures. Our lastest project was the covered trellis over the porch with a cover over it. We added the patio recovered, deck, and trellis in stages over the year. We had plans to extend out the deck and add a hot tub and swimming pool. Life stop us before that part was added. I sure wish I had a chance to use that part. Maybe the new house?

That is the scrapbook loop any way. I've been busy painting, packing, yard work, and taking care of the grand daughter right now so my time is taken. I do plan on having some life back on Monday. This is my last busy weekend until we move. The house in Ohio is going great and thats all I'll say about that! Don't want to jenks anything there! Duty calls...miss everyone!

I spent a week looking at houses (16 the first day!) in sleet and snow...it was not that bad though. The next day I think I looked at about 8 before narrowing it down to about 3. This was my favorite and the ones that meet our price. We close on April 30th and are still undecided when we move.

around our house. My hubby was laid off his job and starts a new job tomorrow. We have been very busy getting our house ready to sell...painting, repairing things, packing up, just to name a few. I miss my daily fix of scrapbooking and visiting all my favorite sites. One more crazy week of this madness and we go on vacation and house hunting. I'm so looking forward to some time off to get back to scrapbooking and all the new scrapbook stores I can visit!...Ohio scrapbook store here I come!!!

I actually won the final contest at Memory Creators. OMG...I think my mouth actually dropped to the floor and hit my toes! I had no idea that the pictures I had to work with would win. I had the hardest time working with the bright orange. I actually had fun putting the Elsie tough to my LO though...that part was fun! I had a blast doing this contest and meet some of the sweetest and most talented people during this contest...I am honored to have done this contest with you. Your all great on the message board...you all rock! Thanks Shawna for being the coach and running the contest and to all the design team for voting for me and to Stayce the owner. I can't wait until next year...lol.

We went to a superbowl party right after the announcement and we won $335.00 in football pools. How lucky were we today. I've already got the money spent on the grand baby. She's getting a new big girl bed and she is going to love it. Can't wait to get the pictures! We'll off to bed I have cropping tomorrow with my best friend, I'm trying to get my HOF layouts finished...nothing like waiting until the last minute. I do work best under pressure though!

It's my birthday

Wow...I'm 46 years old...I had a great birthday this year. DH was great to me...except the ragging me for being older, that's going to happen no matter how sweet he is to me! He got me a new sewing machine...I'm so excited! It was a toss up on that or a nice scanner. I've been wanting to do LOs with stitches, so...the sewing machine won out.

He took me to PF Changs last night for dinner and it was soooooo good! I love that place! Then today I got to crop all day with my best friend, Tina. We went out to eat for dinner...her treat (she's so tricky and sweet) and had a great time. This weekend I'm cropping with the rest of our friends and celebrating mine and another friend's birthday. A girl could get spoiled after my week. Next weeks back to normal so hey I'm going to live it up this week.

All my kids told me Happy Birthday except one. He is in Korea, so I'll let him off the hook a little on that one! Even my daughter away at Basic training called and wished me a Happy Birthday! I talked to my parents and brother too. I feel pretty blessed!

at Memory Creators superbowl contest. This was some challenge too! Here's the guideline I had to go by...
Final round ladies! Here is your sketch and all related criteria:
1) you must use the PageMaps sketch attached as your layout inspiration - feel free to flip it, turn it upside down, make it your own...just be sure the sketch is clearly visible in your final creation!
2) you will notice a "Monogram" title in the sketch - you are instructed to use either the letter "M" or the letter "C" as your monogram - your choice! The monogram may or may not be the beginning letter of your title - as long as it is contained within the title and in the larger-than-the-rest-of-the-title format, it is fine!
3) you are required to use the following prominently in your layouts:-staples-triangles-fabric
4) your layouts must utilize your interpretation of the following THEME (borrowed from an Elsie Flannigan layout - thank you leaf!):-"fashions come and go, but bad taste is timeless!"

to the final 5 at Memory Creators superbowl 2007. I was so excited to see my name on the list. There's some awesome competition there and I was pretty scared I would not make it. I posted pictures recently about some of the photos in my two LOs so you already know a little about them I've included the journaling in my two LOs because they are very important to the LO.

This LO is about my grandmother who has been battling Alzheimer's for the past two years. We visited her just a couple of months after my grand daughter was born so that she could see her first great great grand daughter. Not many people get to experience 5 generations together. With the progression of the disease she did not know who she was or my daughter but she loved holding her and did not want us to leave. My LO is about remembering the simple things that have become very hard for her. A dear friend sent me an email with the poem I used and I have been dying to use it in this LO. This LO is for my mom who now helps take care of my grandmother as she can not do alot of things for herself anymore. Journaling is hidden behind the photo of my grandmother, daughter, and granddaughter. There are several tags in the pocket also.

Journaling reads: The poem was sent to me by a good friend so I have given credit at the bottom of the poem.

My dearest daughter

My dearest daughter the day that you see me old
I ask that you please have patience and that above
all, you try to understand my dearest daughter…

If, when I talk to you, I repeat the same thing a
thousand and one times don’t interrupt me to point
out that I’ve already told you that, instead, please
just listen to me and remember a time when you
were a little girl when I would read to you the same
story, night after night, until you went to sleep.

When I do not want to have a shower, don’t scold me

My daughter just shipped to the Army for Basic training leaving behind a beautiful daughter. We went with her to Oklahoma City her last day to see her off before shipping. The pictures that I used are from her last day with Hayleigh. It was very hard for her to leave and in one of the pictures I got of her she is crying. It was so hard to watch her leave as I know it was very hard for her to leave her daughter. This song was a perfect match for this event because she did this for her and her daughter and I know she hopes that Hayleigh is proud and looks up to her for this.

I had (8) 6x6 Christmas album kits for a swap at A Cherry On Top due, my next two LOs for Memory Creators, and two rolodex swaps due at Scrapgoods this week. I have been so busy this week. Oh yeah...my daughter left last week so I'm full time mom of a toddler again...if that's not enough itself to keep you busy! I'm going cropping all weekend! We have a nasty winter storm blowing in today for the whole weekend and we are suppose to get ICE...I hope it does not ruin my weekend crop. I'm making a run for it in a few hours...I could always take a blanket and pillow and campout there this weekend???

I hope to work on my HOF LOs this weekend. February will be here before I know it. Here's just a sneak peek at my Memory Creators submittions since I can not post them yet. Here's keeping my fingers crossed...there is some awesome talent I'm up against.

Here's the pictures I said I would put up days ago. This is a picture of Heather and Hayleigh. Heather is lined up and saying her goodbye with orders in hand before leaving MEP. I think this was probably the hardest thing she has had to do so far. You can see in the photo she has tears coming down her face. I decided I needed a new background. I'm feeling a little pink...I think I like it!

I just got back from MEP in OKC (oklahoma) where we saw our daughter off for Basic training. She is headed to Ft. Jackson and then on to Ft. Bragg. It was hard saying goodbye because she leaves her little girl behind. I'm very proud of her for doing what it take to make life better for the two of them. Please keep her in your prayers! I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I hope everyones' New Year is starting off right. Mine seems to be going pretty good. I found out yesterday I won a drawing at a scrapbook site...not sure what the prize is but anything is more than I had...lol

I just found out my two LOs for Memory Creators made the next round. I did not think I would make it to the next round. I did my two LOs in a hotel while at my son's graduation from Basic. My DH gave me a hard time about dragging all my stuff...believe me I did not bring no where near all my stuff. I felt pretty limited to tell you the truth! He asked me if we can go anywhere on vacation with out scrapbook stuff...we'll??? I don't know??? I had him load them on his lap top and send them in for me through my email...where there is a will there's for sure a way!

Two of my friends in cyber scrapbook world did not make it, darn I was hoping all three of us would make it to the next round. And I loved their Los...they were awesome!!! Here's BIG hugs for Kate and Jessica!!!

Hard to believe

this year has almost come to an end. With that said I'm excited about the New Year to come. We are going to have many changes to 2007. Our oldest daughter Heather is getting ready to go into the Army reserves. She leaves on January 4th. We are going down on the 3rd to OKC to spend the last day with her. She is leaving behind her daughter (our grand daughter) Hayleigh, so we will be watching her until she gets back. I am going to be pulling mom duties again for a little one.

Another big change for us is my DH is in the process of finding a new job so we will be relocating to a new state. He has an interview in Texas and Ohio so far. I'm leaning towards Texas myself. I would be happy at either place. Being a military wife for 12 years I'm so use to relocating it's just another adventure. I have alot of wonderful friends I will be leaving behind here that I will truely miss. They are mostly scrapbooking buddies!

I've been thinking about my 2007 goals and I hope to get them listed by New Years. That way I can fall back on my blog to remind me of the goals I've set for myself.

are pretty boring so tomorrow I'm going to the LSS and crop for the day. I have an album I need to get finished and two layouts for the Superbowl round at Memory Creators. I guess it's still work but I love this kind of work. Sitting down...running my mouth...and scrapbooking...how can that be work???

I'm getting very excited because next week we go pick up our son that has been away at Basic training and his AIT (Military training) for Enigineering. I'm so happy that he will be home before Christmas. He has been away for some time now...most of the year! He is at Ft. Leonardwood...we have been there for our oldest son's graduation. I loved it up there, very beautiful area. I hope it's not too cold or any snow while we are on the road. I love it...but I don't like driving out of town in it! Did I say how excited I am??? lol

This is Alex the day he left for Basic. I can't wait to see how much he has changed!

at Scraplove. For the final round you have to do a LO of "10 things I love about me". We started with 63 people playing the game and now it's down to the final 11 with 2 slots for the Design Team. I've gain so much from this challenge. I've made some wonder friendships along the way...plus I've push my artistic abilities to the max. I've loved every challenge and whether or not I make the design team or not does not matter. I'm proud of the accomplishments along the way. Although...if I do make it that would be awesome too!

Round # 7

I just finished my layout for Round # 7. This one was more close to heart than some of my other LOs I've done for the Scraplove contest. This is not a cute-girly one but very important to me. I hope the change up in my style can keep me going in the game. If not...I have this wonderful LO of my son Adam.

at Scraplove and Monica has an awesome challenge for us. We have to use "I wish..." in our layout. That's it...the rest is our design. I love it...complete freedom! She also has designed a great way to get some people voted off back in the game with a great little spreadsheet that keeps everything fair! She's the greatest!

I've already got an idea in my head and I know what pictures I'm going to use for this challenge. This is my oldest son, Adam who is stationed in Korea. I miss him all the time but even more during the holidays! So here's one of the pictures that I'm using for this challenge...

My DH took this picture of Adam walking away at the airport. This is our young soldier becoming a man...this is his job, this is his adventure and he makes us proud! This brings tears to my eyes everytime I see it! I love you Adam...Mom

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY

Doing the family thing today...cooking the turkey and all the goodies to go with it. We are missing our two sons today. Our oldest Adam is in Korea in the Army and our youngest is in Basic Training at Ft. Leonardwood. We love you and miss you!

I have been busy helping our local scrapbook store move to a bigger location. My two daughters also went over to help out. We plan on going back today to help them get finish because they open back up tomorrow.

but we are taking a week break for Thanksgiving! For round #7 the people voted out get a chance to get back in the game also. This has been a fun challenge and I'm loving it!

I also made the First Round at Superbowl of Scrapbooking at memorycreators (Draft), so I have two layouts to work on.

1. requirement is to use a transprency and some form of metal fastener on the first layout.

2. a sketch for the second layout.

I hope to get started on these this weekend when I'm finished with all the Thanksgiving cooking!

Yes that's right. I'm cropping with a friend (Tina) for a couple of days. We have another friend (Megan) coming in from OKC to crop with us. The last time we spent the whole weekend at Megan's house. She lives on a lake and has a pool and we had an absolute blast...cropped very late, swam in her pool, and went to the LSS(s). Too bad this one is not all weekend, but I'm happy with whatever I can get! I'm not working on alot of layouts though because I have Christmas presents to get done. It will be here before I know it!!!

We (Michelle momof3crazies & myself) are getting very close to submitting our partnership challenge. We are putting the final touches on it and should be ready to submit very soon. I've already won because I gained a friendship out of it! Here's a sneak peek...

Ye s I did it! I made it another round at scraplove. This week is a two part challenge. The first challenge (for me only) is a LO using a phrase that say me! Mine is "that's right cute!" It took me no time to figure that one out...lol So, here's my take on this challenge.

The second part is a partnership challenge, which I'm doing with an awesome scrapbook partner momof3crazies (Michelle), her blog. She's a very sweet person and this challenge has given me a chance to get to know her better. Thanks Michelle! We have a sketch to go by and we each have to take half of the sketch and create a LO that matches each other. It's more challenging than you would think, but we are having a blast! I will post our LO for that challenge soon.

This is really starting to get hard! I hesitated before looking at the list this week and I'm sure next week we only get worst. I love it though. It really pushes you to do your very best. This round you have to do a layout from a music CD. After a lot of searching...here's what I came up with. Now, let's see if it's good enough to take me to the next round!

at Scraplove. This was easy for me because we had a sketch Lo. For me it takes the guess work out of what is wanted. I love working with sketch LOs. Here's my take on it:

I got my goodie box in the mail for Scrapgoods. It's my month on the Design Team to make 3 LOs for the site. Oh...what goodies I got! I'll have to post a picture tomorrow to show off all the goodies. It has Bohemia pp, chalks, inks, stamps, ribbons, and more. I can't wait to play.

Hayleigh has been a busy little girl these days. She did Hallozooween, daycare today, trick or treating at PawPaw's work, and in the neighborhood. Boy is she sleeping good tonight! She was a ladybug and a cute ladybug I must say! She had a friendly lion with her at Hallozooween. He's a cutie too.

I sent in this LO for the November Guest Designer at Susan's Scrap Shack . It's by invitation only so we'll see what happens. My LO was excepted as a finalist so here's keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Round 2.

This afternoon we are taking Hayleigh to her first pumpkin patch this year. There are several around here so we may have to go visiting them all. Fall is my favorite time of year! This one has rides so I think she is going to love it.

I did this layout for a Design Team contest I'm in for Scraplove.com. This was a fun ad layout. It just came together pretty fast. Love when they do that. The way this contest works is they vote someone off, so we'll see what happens. Keeping the fingers crossed!

I took Heather and Hayleigh to the park to get some fall pictures. We bought Hayleigh some small pumpkins and she loved them. They were small so she could hold them. She got tired pretty fast so I did not get as many pictures as I had hoped and got hardly any of Heather. We'll have to go back out soon and try for some more before it turns too cold.

Day At The ZOO

Went to lunch with DH, DD Heather and GD Hayleigh. After dropping PawPaw back off to work we went to the zoo. Hayleigh got to see a black bear, pink flamingos, the Rain Forest, a peacock, and visit the petting zoo. She went on the carousel ride, rode the train, and played in the park. Poor thing...fell sleep on the way home!

Ok, enough being depressed...life goes on. I went cropping yesterday for a few hours at the LSS. Never enough hours when I go there, so I'm going again on Friday. Kids are out of school, so no shuttling service...I'm off!!!

Nothing new today...did the usual running kids to and from place to place. I hope to work on some LOs tonight after dinner...speaking of dinner better get to it so I can play!

We'll today's the day! Alex leaves today for OKC Meps station. We'll get to spend the afternoon with him. We're taking him to Brick Town in OKC. Then we'll see him the next morning where he will finish processing before he leaves out for Ft. Leonardwood. I'll have my box of tissues ready. The ride home is going to be so much fun!

I'm going scrapbooking all day with one of my best friends Tina. I hope to get alot done...but if not it will still be a blast!

This is Alex's last full day here and I'm not going to be here. It will be good...Charles (DH) and Alex are going to hang out and go to Hootiers for lunch. I'll have to get Charles to get a picture for me of Alex with all the girls.
