I made it!!!

to the final 5 at Memory Creators superbowl 2007. I was so excited to see my name on the list. There's some awesome competition there and I was pretty scared I would not make it. I posted pictures recently about some of the photos in my two LOs so you already know a little about them I've included the journaling in my two LOs because they are very important to the LO.

This LO is about my grandmother who has been battling Alzheimer's for the past two years. We visited her just a couple of months after my grand daughter was born so that she could see her first great great grand daughter. Not many people get to experience 5 generations together. With the progression of the disease she did not know who she was or my daughter but she loved holding her and did not want us to leave. My LO is about remembering the simple things that have become very hard for her. A dear friend sent me an email with the poem I used and I have been dying to use it in this LO. This LO is for my mom who now helps take care of my grandmother as she can not do alot of things for herself anymore. Journaling is hidden behind the photo of my grandmother, daughter, and granddaughter. There are several tags in the pocket also.

Journaling reads: The poem was sent to me by a good friend so I have given credit at the bottom of the poem.

My dearest daughter

My dearest daughter the day that you see me old
I ask that you please have patience and that above
all, you try to understand my dearest daughter…

If, when I talk to you, I repeat the same thing a
thousand and one times don’t interrupt me to point
out that I’ve already told you that, instead, please
just listen to me and remember a time when you
were a little girl when I would read to you the same
story, night after night, until you went to sleep.

When I do not want to have a shower, don’t scold me
and please don’t try to embarrass me. Remember,
instead, a time when I had to chase you with a
thousand excuses I invented, in order to get you to
bathe, when you were a little girl.

When you see my ignorance of new technologies,
give me the necessary time to learn a please don’t
roll your eyes or look at me with a mocking face.

Remember, my dearest, I taught you how to do so
many things…to eat properly…to dress and groom
yourself, and how you can confront and deal with life.

The day you notice I became old, my dearest daughter,
Please have patience and, above all, please try to
understand me.

If., occasionally, I lose the memory or the thread of our
conversation, let me have the necessary time to remember
and if I can not do it, don’t become nervous, or impatient,
or arrogant.

Instead, just know in your heart that the most important
thing for me to simply be with you and have you listening
to me.

And when my tired old legs won’t let me walk as before…
give me your hand…in much the same way I did for you
when you made your first steps, and when someday I tell
you that I do not want to live anymore…that I’m ready to
die…please do not get upset or angry…because one day,
my dearest daughter, you will understand.

Until then, just try to understand that my age, reach a point
where we do not live anymore. We just exist.

When this day comes for me you must not feel sad, and or
incompetent for seeing me like this. Instead, I ask that you
be with me, that you try to understand me, that you help me.
Help me as I journey to the end of my life with love and with
a deep understanding of and appreciation for the gift of time
and love we were blessed to share together. I will thank you…
by a smile…and by the immense love I have always had for you!
I love you…My dearest daughter! Your Mother.

My daughter just shipped to the Army for Basic training leaving behind a beautiful daughter. We went with her to Oklahoma City her last day to see her off before shipping. The pictures that I used are from her last day with Hayleigh. It was very hard for her to leave and in one of the pictures I got of her she is crying. It was so hard to watch her leave as I know it was very hard for her to leave her daughter. This song was a perfect match for this event because she did this for her and her daughter and I know she hopes that Hayleigh is proud and looks up to her for this.

Journaling reads:

This had to be the
hardest day of your life
leaving Hayleigh behind
with tears falling
down your face you stood
strong and did what
you had to do.

My song:
I used the song In My Daughter's Eyes by Martina McBride. The song is layered in the picture of my grand daughters eyes. I used transparencies to get this effect.

In My Daughter’s Eyes

In my daughter's eyes I am a heroI am strong and wise and I know no fearBut the truth is plain to seeShe was sent to rescue meI see who I wanna beIn my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equalDarkness turns to light and theworld is at peaceThis miracle God gave to me gives mestrength when I am weakI find reason to believeIn my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her handaround my fingerOh it puts a smile in my heartEverything becomes a little clearerI realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your hearthas had enoughIt's giving more when you feel like giving upI've seen the lightIt's in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I can see the futureA reflection of who I am and what will beThough she'll grow and someday leaveMaybe raise a familyWhen I'm gone I hope you see how happyshe made meFor I'll be thereIn my daughter's eyes

Hi. I just happened to find your blog from a comment you left on Bethany's blog. I love the layouts you have posted. You are very talented! The Martina McBride song is one of my favorites and I am hoping to do a layout soon using it as part of my journaling...I think it would be perfect for a page for my two girls! Great to view your blog and I look forward to returning soon! Have a great day!

If , perhaps you want to bypass a proxy server, be it while at work or at school, you have two options open up to you. The first is straight forward and easy and involves only your web browser. The second is a bit more complex but could be necessary if the first solution does not deliver.

Should you be lucky enough, bypassing the proxy at your work or school may be as simple as disabling it in your web browser. Check the internet connection settings of your web browser and check to see if the proxy server details are put in place in your web browser. Whenever they are, try to disable them and connect to online again. Many timesthat with some luck the proxy server is disabled but you are now able to access the web normally.

Many schools or offices block specific websites (such as social networking or classified sites) and furthermore this is usually why you may have trouble accessing them. They did this usually with the goal of stopping students or employees from wasting valuable time online visiting unproductive websites. However, your school or office does not and cannot block the entire internet. Instead they block specific websites determined by their site link. Therefore, you are free to access a proxy server which then redirects your connection to your desired website allowing you to access the blocked website even from work or school.

To bypass a proxy server, first check to see if your web browser at work or school is setup to access the proxy. Disable it and try again. As a last resort, you may need to setup your own elite proxy in order to access websites while at work or school.
